What comes to mind when you think of smart lighting? A commercial building? A home? Probably not bike lights, but that’s exactly what See.Sense wanted to create. Its mission: to enhance the safety, performance and enjoyment of cycling by bringing technology to the cutting edge of cycling design.

Co-founder and CEO, Philip McAleese, used his skills in electronic and soft

ware design create a bicycle light that used sensor technology to improve his visibility to cars. He brought a set of these intelligent bike lights, which are connected via Bluetooth® technology to a user’s mobile phone, to Discover Blue: London in June.

Watch the below video to hear why Bluetooth provided the quickest and easiest way to integrate their technology and collect and harvest data off the back of it.

The See.Sense intelligent light was successfully launched on Kickstarter in October, 2013 and was a great success, going on to be stocked with major retailers and used by thousands of cyclists all around the world.
