Can't find your car? Need to track your run? Need to monitor patient health? Read how this year's finalists in the Breakthrough Applications category are making these things possible with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology.

Bluetooth Technology Helps You Find Your Car

Can’t remember where you parked your car? Your iPhone will. Find My Car Smarter uses Bluetooth® Smart technology so you no longer need to fidget with your phone when you park. When you start your car, the Find My Car Smarter app wirelessly connects to the Find My Car Smarter device, powered by your cigarette lighter. After parking, the device turns off but the app activates the GPS to save its location. If you forget where you parked, simply launch the app and navigate your way back.

Track Your Run with New Bluetooth Technology Fitness Application

MapMyRun is a fitness tracking application that uses the built-in GPS of a mobile device to provide fitness enthusiasts the ability to map, record and share their exercise routes and workouts in an online database. This is all done using Bluetooth to connect with other devices to store your fitness data including how far you ran, where you ran and even heart rate.

Bluetooth Technology Enables Better Patient Monitoring

Swissmed Mobile developed the MedM Platform application. This mobile and desktop patient-monitoring platform uses Bluetooth Smart technology to transmit data from sensors to healthcare systems. The core idea behind the solution is to use the mobile phone, a ubiquitous Bluetooth enabled connectivity device, as a simple means for data transmission available to virtually anyone.

FMC, MapMyFitness and Swissmed Mobile are named as finalists in the Breakthrough Applications category.
